But it is such a pain. + excellent flight model (given good plane modelling) + excellent terrain and road data + professional software; I didn't say fsx is better or worse than xplane 10.

But beware both simulators take alot of memory!!! Fsx is a more accessible sim however, p3d is better than fsx because of the graphics and because it moves faster.you will have a higher frame rate in p3d. But fsx isn't well optimized. I think fsx is very good for systems simulation, provided someone has built the plane you are interested in at a high quality (eg pmdg or fslabs).
